Lentle adds that they chose to shoot the opening at Hollywood Center Studios because of the episode’s show business theme. “We wanted a location that was iconic and located in the heart of Hollywood,” she says, “a location that immediately looks like a studio and has a history to it.”
The shoot took a half day and was carried out as traffic flow in and out of the studio gate continued as normal. “They were really good about having people go around us so that we could shoot,” recalls Lentle. “It looked great and turned out exactly as we planned.”
Top Gear USA is produced by BBC Worldwide Productions and airs on HISTORY.
